DISPA is a group of organisations that provide services to Disability Insurers. The management of disability claims is becoming increasingly complex and an increasing number of specialists are becoming involved. Even large insurance companies find it difficult to provide all of the services they need from their own resources. This means that most insurers are looking to outsource various aspects of their claims management. DISPA members believe that it is important for service providers to fully understand the needs of their customers and to work in such a way that their services compliment those of other service providers so that the information and evidence they produce is of real value to their clients.

DISPA's objectives are:

To improve and monitor professional standards of conduct and standards of service provided to disability insurers.

To promote liaison and co-operation between providers of complimentary services to disability insurers.

To promote the highest standards of business principals and ethics.

To agree and publish standards of best practice where appropriate.

To provide a common and recognised body to respond to questions from insurers, the press or other groups.

To seek ways of developing business opportunities for all members.

DISPA will promote healthy competition between members providing similar services. Members will not use their membership to agree standard price structures or to attempt to form cartels.
